Wooden chair with solid seat and shows some green paint. Made by Walter J. Yardley, 1866 at Palmerston. Made of Totara or rimu.

This wooden shepherd's crook was brought out to New Zealand by the Goodson family, who settled in Thousand Acre Rd around 1860. The crook was passed down through the family.

Rocket Stick Rocket Stick

Long wooden rod. Both ends have chiselled areas - to thread rope through. These sections are flat, whereas the rest of the rod is rounded. Written on the front (that is the flat side) is "His Honor (sic) The Supert (sic) of Otago" Used by the local rocket brigade as part of their efforts to rescue people from ships during storms.

Box of dominoes. The dominoes have a wooden base with ivory tops. Dots made by indenting the top and painting it black. 28 dominoes. Made by Alex Frame coming out from home on sailing ship in 1874.
