Sterling silver cuff bracelet. Oval shape, hinged at one side and the other has a small button which when pressed opens the bracelet. Front has small round projections on both sides. Scrolls and sprigs of leaves engraved. Raised scroll work is inlaid with rose gold. In the centre is an engraved branch with little leaves while larger leaves are inlaid and with rose gold and yellow gold. The back is plain but is engraved 'Presented to MISS S A SPEDDING - from the teachers of North School- OAMARU April 1884'.
Three lots of hallmarks lion and t, the mark for Chester and a J.B.S. These marks indicate the piece is sterling silver, manufactured in Chester, England, in 1882. |
