Round silver medal shaped like a double Maltese cross. The centre is engraved "DUX GIRL ANNIE GILL NORTH SCHOOL Oamaru 1888". On the reverse is "PRESENTED BY H CONNELL". Surrounding the centre is scrolled sections. Ring at the top.
Rocket Stick Rocket Stick

Long wooden rod. Both ends have chiselled areas - to thread rope through. These sections are flat, whereas the rest of the rod is rounded. Written on the front (that is the flat side) is "His Honor (sic) the Superintent (sic) of Otago" "Mr Birt No 4" Used by the local rocket brigade as part of their efforts to rescue people from ships during storms.

Wedding dress Wedding dress
Circa 1880
Long black frock and long sleeves. Worn as a wedding dress in 1880 by Margaret Moncrieff. She was married in old St Paul's Manse in 1880, by Rev A.B. Todd to John Edmonson.The couple lived at Moeraki where John was a fisherman.

Margaret Moncrieff came from Shetland Isles on the "Invercargill", taking journey taking 11 weeks. The groom was from Unst, Shetland Isles.

13 buttons down the front. Bustle at the back.

Box of dominoes. The dominoes have a wooden base with ivory tops. Dots made by indenting the top and painting it black. 28 dominoes. Made by Alex Frame coming out from home on sailing ship in 1874. Alexander was born in Hamilton, Scotland in 1855 (per Scottish census 1861) and migrated to NZ in 1874. a; Base of box for dominoes. b; Lid of dominoes. c; Dominoes.

A maroon and silver coloured belt. Silver buckle crown with "Dieu Et Mon Droit". Two gold buckles and brass hook. Part of George Sumpter's uniform as a local volunteer.

A cocked hat worn as part of an officers full-dress uniform. The hat is black with a plume of red and white feathers. The hat has gold bullion detailing. Red interior lining. Part of George Sumpter's uniform as a local volunteer.

A= Sword. One side of the blade has a leafy pattern flanking two spiral arrows (end on) each arrow has a set of wings.

On the top of the printed side is "Hobson and Sons"
On the other side is a star of David.
The hand guard is gold coloured metal. An Imperial crown on top of an anchor decorates the front. There is a small, hinged flap on the printed side (this prevents wearing on the uniform).
The back of the hilt is decorated like a lion's mane. The hand guard is protected from the lion’s mouth. The handle is decorated with wire ribbon and chagrin. Fair.
