Work on Ramsay Extension to Oamaru breakwater. Locomotive purchased by Harbour Board in 1934 to transport breccia stone from quarry to create extension. Work began on the project in 1936 and ceased in 1944. (The scheme was ultimately abandoned due to the withdrawal of the government's subsidy and the erosion of the extension.)

Severn Street. "Staff of T & P Milk Coy's [Taieri and Peninsula] Oamaru factory before my time. Second from left is my predecessor [sic] and on left Russell Laurenson son of Jim L our cartage contractor. He was manger of the Vacuum Oil Coy in Dunedin when the T & P ceased operations and he offered me a job as a salesman with them. I would have liked to accept the offer. He was later General Manager for NZ and a District Governor for Rotary. He was well known as a singer. The other tall chap in dark suit is the factory manager.The truck and the shape of the cans seem to date this a good while before I went there."
