Captain William Marshall 1869 - 1948. Member of North Otago Mounted Rifles from 1891 - ? Represented NZ at Queen Victoria's Jubilee, 1897. In 1900 sailed with NZ Mounted Rifles to South Africa (Boer War), 5th contingent. In 1901 returned to South Africa as Captain of D Squadron 9th Contingent NZMR until Boer war ended 1902. Only son of George and Agnes Marshall of Otepopo (Herbert).

Retired 1933 with letter of appreciation from the Governor. Now residing in England

Lieutenant E.Denis Blundell. Head and shoulders portrait in military uniform. Sir Denis distinguished himself as a cricketer. He played in the North Otago team against New South Wales while at the school in the 1920s. He also played in the Cambridge University team. Sir Denis also distinguished himself as an athlete and won the Victoria League Essay in 1926. As an old boy Sir Denis has distinguished himself with many honours. These include G.C.M.G, G.C.V.O., K.B.E., O.B.E. (Military) Q.S.O., Kt. St. John. He was a barrister and solicitor, New Zealand High Commissioner to London, 1968-72 and Governor General of New Zealand 1972-77. He was chairman and director of a number of New Zealand companies, President of the New Zealand Cricket Council 1959-60, Chairman of the Air Services' Licensing Authority 1952-62.
