The St. John's Ambulance hall and Sargood store building facing the camera on Steward Street, with the former Plymouth Brethren Gospel Hall opposite (current Bridge Club hall - 2021). On Severn Street is the two story Police Station, to the right of that the Baptist church and the chimney of the Taieri & Peninsula Milk Supply Company (also North Otago Dairy Company, Huia Butter factory). Used as Awamoa Sunday School after moving to Wansbeck Street Oamaru, next to the Junction Hotel. Permission granted in 1970 for building to be given to Weston Presbyterian Church for use as a church hall.

Southbound train crossing lower Thames Street, 1911. Itchen Street corner. Crossing keepers were replaced by traffic alarms and lights in November 1963. The last crossing keeper, C W Dorward, performed his duties for the last time on 10 November, 1963. (See The Oamaru Mail, 11 November, 1963.) Advertising sign reads "Dr Henry. J Carnegie Farquhar", (visiting American Baptist Evangelists).
