Description
This hand painted sign hung up in the shop of Mr G H Cox. Butcher of Enfield. It depicts a dead dog by a bone and dog house. It reads:
POOR TRUST IS DEAD, BAD PAY KILLED HIM
My meat is good, my weights are just
I cannot tell what man to trust
I have trusted many, to my sorrow
Pay to day, trust tomorrow
