168589. The car in this lovely family photo is a c1938 Vauxhall Fourteen-Six, a typical British import of the time and very popular family transport. The white ribbon generally used on wedding cars may have given way to a VE Day celebration here as the crop of bunting at the car mascot is supporting the Union Jack. There wouldn't have been much choice in ribbon colour at the time. Nothing more patriotic than Lord Baden Powell's Boy Scout uniform. 'The Empire too, We can depend on you'.
