I believe this is a road in the Peel forest, Canterbury. For comparison: https://natlib.govt.nz/records/22691715 There is another photo from the same album (https://collection.culturewaitaki.org.nz/objects/160569/unidentified-people-on-a-bridge) which seems to be taken on a footbridge at Blandswood, Peel Forest, so this is consistent with the photographer visiting this area.
