This photograph shows Bond Street, looking south. The building on the left, with the gable and the man standing in the entrance, is Bates, Sise & Co. To its right is the NZ Shipping Co., then and the two-storey building on the corner is the National Mortgage & Agency Co. (NMA). On the far right (across Water Street) is the Universal Bond building. This row of buildings is shown on page 170 of Alex Trapeznik's 'Dunedin's Warehouse Precinct' (www.genrebooks.co.nz/ebooks/DunedinsWarehousePrecinct.pdf) -- the NMA building is also shown along with the NZ Shipping Co. building on page 56, and the Universal Bond appears on page 168.
