Description
Mounted gun drill on the Backfield. Eight boys surround a mounted gun with 4 wheels on a dual carriage. In the middleground the Union Jack is flying from the flagpole, In the background is the armoury building which was still situated to the south of the Hall of Memories. The Hall of Memories is in the middle of the background with the boarders bicycle sheds to the left of the picture. The roof of the gymnasium and part of the back of the South [Blundell] building are also visible. There are wooden fences visible in the vicinity of the flagpole. There are macracarpa trees in the right background. The boys are in school uniform, wearing their caps, navy socks drawn to their knees, navy shorts and grey shirts.
