Description
Steward Street and Takaro Park, from clock tower, c, 1937. The Middle School is shown in the centre of the picture. The St. John's Ambulance hall and Sargood store building facing the camera on Steward Street, with the former Plymouth Brethren Gospel Hall opposite (current Bridge Club hall - 2021). On Severn Street is the two story Police Station, to the right of that the Baptist church and the chimney of the Taieri & Peninsula Milk Supply Company (also North Otago Dairy Company, Huia Butter factory).
