John Bulleid and Fanny Laura Snell Lee, were 1st cousins. (In the family tree, they are my 2nd cousins). They were married on the 5th of Apr 1881, in St James Church, Melbourne, Australia, by the Rev. M.H. Becker. This church is now known as the Old Cathedral, having been moved stone by stone to Batman St, Melbourne. They then moved to Oamaru, North Otago. Fanny's father Samuel Lee, was the driving force behind the Bulleids store. Samuel owned a drapery business in England, which was operated by him and his wife Leah. Leah's parents were the Page's, who in (family) partnership with the Snell's, had contacts in Europe for drapery and hoisery.
