Description
Duntroon and Railway Yards, c. late 1920s. The combined railway station and post office is shown at the right of the photograph. This portion of line as far as Hakataramea was constructed by the Duntroon and Hakataramea Railway Company Limited, and was opened for traffic on 2 July 1881. The New Zealand Railways worked the line for the company, taking over full control from 1 April, 1885.
