A muzzle loading rifled cannon formerly emplaced in the coastal defenses of Oamaru, with on its hydraulically buffered and sliding slope carriage. Visible are the rail wheels that would allow the cannon to rotate on a circular rail in its emplacement. It was a gift from a private collector citizen, Mr Nicol, to the town of Oamaru. The historic cannon was eventually separated from its mount which got sold for scrap. The barrel itself can still be seen at at Oamaru Lookout Point, Tamar Street, Oamaru.
