Description
Bottom right building Bacon Curing factory. Large building next to it, on corner David Fea's store. Across the road, small building on right by bush Blacksmith Alex Lindsays office and quarters. Long building next to it, Blacksmith's shop. Behind smithy, building with black roof District store stables. Two buildings opposite stables are Whites house and the butcher shop. Building alone, by windmill Honey Store (Gavin Saville). Across road with path leading to door- Boarding House. Behind that, to right Newlands Store, to left John Rankin (Blacksmith). Behind that, building at crossroad, Newlands Bakery. Information from McLeods of Springhill Maheno. Noeline Boyce.

David Fea's Store and Bakery - Bacon curer Bill Yorston. (Across the road (up the photo) A Lindsay's Blacksmiths). Butcher's shop - Wilson's Butchery. Building directly in front of Newlands Bakery is the Wood and Coal Sheds (Buzan's). Small building to the right of Bakery is a steam driven pump, pumped water to railway track south end of station. Above the pump is the Wagon Trail (to the left of the road) leading to McPherson's and later Souness' Home. Directly across to the right is Blind Road which passes the Muldrew Home within the trees, and the McLeod's home (white line). Building halfway up the left side of photo is Maheno Hotel (later Saville's Store).
